Bus
Buses and coaches are by far the most popular form of public transport in New Zealand. In terms of fuel efficiency per passenger kilometre, the bus significantly outperforms the private car. In terms of congestion, a bus is a much more practical way to get around while on holiday. Travelling by bus can be a fantastic way of seeing the countryside at a slower pace than a train and for interacting with locals.
