Long-haul Luxury with Singapore Airlines
Long-haul travellers flying Singapore Airlines out of Auckland and Christchurch will soon be able to do so in even more luxury than before.
A number of the airlines’ Boeing 777-200ER aircraft cabins are being upgraded to feature additional space and comfort as part of a investment costing nearly SGD$95 million.
The cabin refurbishment will provide larger in-flight entertainment screen sizes in all seat classes, plus seats that convert into full-flat beds in Business Class.
Personal in-flight entertainment screens in Economy Class are being upgraded to 9 inches, while those in Business Class are being increased to a generous 15.4 inches.
The first of these upgraded aircraft left the hanger just last week, flying between Singapore and Amsterdam. The new aircraft will begin servicing New Zealand later this year.
