Why go?

Fuel your need for speed at this adrenaline pumping motor race!

Formula 1 racing came to Australia in 1985, firstly to Adelaide, before switching to Melbourne in 1996. A track was developed in Melbourne's beautiful Albert Park, part of it using closed-off public roads.   The circuit is spectacular featuring very few straights and some tricky corners.

Melbourne again hosts Round 1 of the FIA Formula 1® World Championship as well as 20 years of bringing F1 to the world stage.  Since 1996, the race has become very popular with drivers and fans alike, and the party atmosphere of Melbourne keeps them coming back year after year.

The off track action has a well deserved reputation for being just as thrilling with popular rock bands, air shows and a wide range of entertainment over four days of breathtaking action.

Be part of the history!   Don’t miss seeing the motorsport driving elite battling for supremacy to be crowned champion.
