Why go?

Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, and widely considered the most prestigious. It has been held at the All England Club in London since 1877. It is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments (Majors), the others being the Australian Open, the French Open (Roland Garros) and the US Open. Wimbledon is the only Major still played on grass, the game's original surface, which gave the game its original name of "lawn tennis".

Wimbledon traditions include a strict dress code for competitors, the eating of strawberries and cream by the spectators, and Royal patronage.

Attending the hallowed grounds of Wimbledon is the pinnacle of any avid tennis fan's dream... lush green tennis courts, famous faces in the Royal Box, pressed tennis whites, the fans and their flags. And of course the chance to watch scintillating tennis played by the legends themselves.

Experience all that the majestic city of London has to offer when you’re not watching tennis. Whether you want to stay in London or prefer to plan a longer day trip outside of the city, you can’t go wrong!

Ticket Types

The only tickets that can be purchased in advance are Debenture tickets.  There are four ways to obtain tickets for The Championships – via a ballot system, queuing up at the event (from 4am), or via Ticketmaster who release an allocation of several hundred Centre Court and Court 3 tickets at 9am the day before play.

Wimbledon Debenture Tickets

Debenture seats are the finest tickets on Centre and Number One Courts and offer a very special experience. They are valid for the full day and also provide access to all outside courts on a first come-first served basis. What's more, they are also the only seats that are available for sale before the tournament.

All Debenture tickets come with special badges which provide access to the relevant Debenture Lounge, which includes a bar, restaurant, and special cloakroom facilities very close to the court.

Venue

Centre Court is the main court at the Wimbledon Championship, the third annual Grand Slam event of the tennis calendar. It is considered the world's most famous tennis court. It incorporates the clubhouse of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Its only regular use for play is during the two weeks a year that the Championships take place. Centre Court has a premier box for use by the Royal Family and other distinguished guests, and is also known by its postcode SW19.

The Show Courts are Centre Court, Court 1 and Court 2. For the first nine days of the tournament, top players are scheduled here. In the second week, half of the women’s and men’s quarters are played on Court 1. Court 3 is partially ticketed, and also has a tremendous lineup throughout the event. Enjoy unlimited access to the matches being played on courts 4-19, where seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
