When flying, passengers usually have the option of choosing from between two or more travel classes. Whilst the travel classes and services vary from one airline to another, there are some generalities.
Economy Class is usually the standard travel class. Passengers who travel economy class will generally have a comfortable trip and will be well looked after by flight attendants. However some people may prefer the extra luxuries that are provided in Business Class or First Class.
Business Class travel often provides extra space for passengers - more leg room and larger or wider seats. Seats may also be arranged differently so as to allow passengers easier access to aisles.
You will often find that Business Class travellers have extra provision to use electronic equipment such as telephones and laptop computers, as many people who are travelling on business may like to continue working or preparing for a meeting at their destination. Business Class facilities may also include privacy screens between seats. The menus in Business Class may provide more options that those of Economy Class.
First Class travel is usually much more spacious with larger seats that may convert to a bed for total comfort. Passengers may be given a blanket and pillow to help them to rest. As with Business Class travel, First Class guests may also have access to power outlets to use laptop computers. They often have a greater selection of entertainment options and more likely will have a personal television screen rather than a cabin screen.
The menu is another area where there is often a big difference between First Class and Economy Class. Along with a larger variety of food and beverages, many First Class travellers will be able to choose when and what they want to eat, as well as having meals freshly prepared for them on some airlines. Beverages - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic - are usually included in the fare fee, whereas Economy Class passengers will usually pay for these.
