With large areas of protected wetlands, Cabarita has only limited development, creating a quiet, relaxed holiday atmosphere. Bounded by Nature Reserve to the north and west and the Pacific Ocean to the east, this typical coastal village of some 3000 residents represents a unique lifestyle.
It boasts many features such as bike tracks, coastal walkways, and littoral rainforests. Cudgen Lake, around behind the Cabarita Ski Gardens site is a very good area for children and families enjoying boating as the water is only very shallow and there are water tractors, canoes and catamarans for hire. There is a new Skateboard Park, headland BBQ and Picnic areas and uninterrupted views over the ocean; whale-watching is a local pastime.

The village has the only beachside hotel in the Tweed Shire with residents and visitors alike being able to eat and drink within 200 yds of the main beach and enjoy the special ambience this setting provides.
With the usual shops and services including a Surf Club, Bowling Club, many cafes, restaurants, motels and other rental accommodation, giving prospective visitors a wide choice.
Whether you want great surf, gentle swimming, rock fishing, a headland walk, or discover the mysteries of the crystal clear waters of a rock pool, Cabarita Beach has it all. Or maybe you would just like to relax on this beautiful uncrowded, patrolled beach and watch the dolphins and whales cruise by!
