Ceduna has a population of about 4000 residents. Located on the shores of Murat Bay, Ceduna is a scenic town with a view of the ocean. The name Ceduna comes from the aboriginal word "Chedoona" which is said to mean a place to sit and rest. Isolated from any city, this is a suitable title for the holiday town.

The main industries of the town include farming, fish and mining of various elements. During the 1850's the town was home to a whaling station. In 2002 Ceduna received international attention when a total solar eclipse was viewable from the town.
The sandy coves, sheltered bays and close islands make Ceduna an excellent holiday spot.
