You could also opt to pay a visit to Cullen Bay, circumnavigate the city by bicycle, explore the remains of nearly a century of penal history at the historic Fannie Bay Gaol or take the short flight over to the Tiwi Islands for a true cultural experience.

Visit one of Darwin's many Asian-style markets; Parap, Nightcliff and Rapid Creek weekend markets run all year round and the famous Mindil Beach Sunset Markets run from May through October on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons.
