An 18 kilometre drive from Bundaberg along Elliot Heads Rd, right at the mouth of the Elliot River, you’ll find the picturesque little coastal town of Elliot Heads itself. The sand stone cliffs and rocky foreshore are well worth exploring. The beach is good for bodysurfing, windsurfing or jet skis and is patrolled by surf life savers in summer and the river offers plenty of room for calmer water activities.

Elliot heads has always been popular with fishermen, with good beach fishing and a number of reefs. On the northern bank of the estuary is Riverview, which has been a favourite fishing spot for generations. There are also a number of nice shady picnic and barbeque spots adjacent to the beach.
The town has a couple of take away food stores but no petrol. There is a caravan park with cabin accommodation and the local store has a boat hire service.
