The Central Coast is a buffet of coastal oases and Ettalong Beach is one of the prime dishes to feast on. Overlooking Broken Bay and Lion Island and only 50 miles (80 kms) north of Sydney, though increasingly popular, this is still a place for those wanting a bit of quiet time away from hectic urban cities.

Ettalong Beach and its adjoining village is the type of quaint coastal town where there’s one of everything - a town shop, bakery, post office, chemist, local church and primary school. Although not for everyone you can be assured of the quality and sense of community that this city has created for itself. In your time staying here you’ll get to know the shop keepers and locals as if you’ve been mates all your life.
Once you’ve spent a couple of days lying in the paradise of Ettalong Beach’s sandy shores (and as it’s on Brisbane Waters there’s no surf), you might want to try a day trip to Palm Beach or Bouddi National Park. There is a ferry that runs return trips to Palmy stopping in at Wagstaffe, leaving from the end of Ferry Road. Bouddi Park is a short drive away and a chance to stretch your legs on the popular Coastal Walking Track taking you from Putty Beach to MacMasters Beach.
There’s no leaving Ettalong Beach without first making sure you’ve wandered through the village markets held every weekend and on public holiday Mondays from 9am-4pm. Snap up some bargains and home-made trinkets by the central coast locals.
From backpackers hostels, quaint B&Bs and the newly built Mantra Resort which offers beach front accommodation and luxurious facilities, Ettalong Beach can suit your lodging needs. Stay for a day trip whilst beach hopping the coastline or for a week and you’ll start thinking of Ettalong as your home, as do many commuters who work in Sydney and live here.
