Jim Jim Falls is one of the many spectacular waterfalls to be found in Kakadu National Park. They can be found 60 kilometres south of Jabiru, a small town in the centre of Kakadu established to service the uranium mine. They can only be reached by 4WD in the dry season, when the falls unfortunately have been reduced to a trickle. To see them in the wet season when they are thundering down the 150m high sandstone gorge you need to take a helicopter flight. The stunning, emerald green plunge pool, with a white sandy beach, surrounded by high sandstone cliffs is safe for swimming and is still worth a visit in the dry season.

There is a rugged trek for 900m across high boulders to reach the bottom of the falls and the walk to the top is rewarded with great views.
