Surfers Paradise Information

Without doubt on of Australia's most popular and enduring holiday spots is Surfers Paradise, the commercial and population centre of the Gold Coast region. This glittering coastal strip is legendary for it's surf beaches, shopping, attractions and of course thriving night life. It's a busy place - host to international motorsport events, where high-rise resorts, and shopping mall rule, but don't be fooled, there is still plenty to love about Surfers Paradise for those who love the great outdoors. A wide sand beach fronts a superb surf beach which stretches for miles north and south and is warm enough to enjoy all year round. Families will love the simple pleasures of a day at the beach, and of course if the day is a touch cool then most of the resorts are well equipped with heated pools.

Surfers Paradise is full of things to do and places to go, for those who love the finer things there are exclusive boutique stores and fine dining. If you love a bargain, again Surfers delivers - with bargain shops and cheap cafes in plentiful supply. Be sure to check out the night markets on the beachfront held each Wednesday and Friday, while the rest of the shops are open every night.

Our Surfers Paradise Travel Guide will also show you a place where the action only heats up as the sun goes down. There are dozens of nightclubs, pubs and bars, and the Gold Coast's own Casino is just down the road, so if it's a party you are after you are in luck.

Top 5 things to do

1. Be dazzled by the city lights
Soak up the coastline view from the dizzying heights of the Q1 tower, or take a horse-drawn carriage through Surfers.
2. Soak up the sunshine
3. Shop in the Cavill Mall
4. Party until the sun comes up
5. Experience the thrills of the SuperGP racing carnival
