Transport & Getting Around

Nadi airport is the largest international airport at which the majority of flights land. There are five airlines that service Fiji being: AirPacific, Air NewZealand, Pacific Blue (Australia), Freedom Air and Korean Air. It is also possible to enter Fiji via boat.

There are three main ways to travel around when on the ground in Fiji, in buses, 'share taxi's' or private taxi's. On the main island buses travel every half hour and on smaller islands a few times a day. Buses are a great option, they are cheap and offer the chance to take in the scenery as you travel. There are daily passes where you can hop on and off at your own pace to travel around.

Car rental is also available for those who are comfortable driving.

Ferries are a good way to travel from island to island, and there are a number of day and night cruises for sightseeing on the reef.

Bicycles are becoming a more common way of transport in Fiji. There are various tours available or you can go on your own and wander through the villages. It is recommended that you take plenty of water and covered clothes with you on a bicycle trip. There are not too many steep hills or mountains so its a good alternative for those with a little fitness.
