Bay of Plenty Information

Located on the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island the Bay of Plenty certainly lives up to it's name with almost 260 km of beautiful coastline stretching in a crescent between Cape Runaway and Coramadel. The surrounding countryside is bursting with farms and orchards and beautiful gardens. There is also no shortage of fresh seafood and why not enjoy a sample or two from one of the local vineyards.

All along the coastline you'll find gorgeous sandy beaches and small seaside communities where the pace of life is a little slower and there just seems to be more time to discover whats around and to appreciate Nature's gifts.

There is a 3.8km (2.4 mile) track to the summit which amazing views of the coastline and surrounding countryside. The Classic Flyers Aviation Museum is great for grown ups and kids alike with the chance to take a ride in a helicopter straight out of M.A.S.H or an exciting bi-plane flight. The Katikati Bird Gardens offer the chance to see some of New Zealand's most colourful and beautiful native bird species.

The climate is another reason the Bay of Plenty is such a popular destination.
