Ko Pha Ngan‎ Information

Sitting tranquilly in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Pha Ngan is the sister island to Koh Samui in the south and Koh Tao in the north. Rgarded as more laid back than Koh Samui and Phuket, the island is becoming more developed and is becoming famous for its Full Moon Party, when thousands of party-goers flood the beach of Haad Rin for a huge celebration each month on the full moon.

Keen divers and snorkellers will love Koh Pha Ngan’s vibrant underwater world, with its luminescent coral reefs and abundant marine life. For deep dives, take a trip to Ang Thong National Marine Park or famous Sail Rock. More sports on Koh Pha Ngan that involve the water include sailing, kayaking, paragliding, windsurfing, wakeboarding and kite surfing.

The wild eastern coastline and pristine jungle interior offer some wonderful opportunities for walking excursions. Take the winding trail to Khao Ra, the highest point on the island, or visit the Phaeng Waterfall for a dazzling view over the south and west of the island.

You can also enjoy plenty of opportunities to learn ancient Thai traditions during your time on Koh Pha Ngan: take a Thai massage course, learn the secrets of fabulous Thai cuisine or get fi t on a Muay Thai (Thai boxing) course. A good place to go is ‘The Sanctuary’ at Haad Tien Beach, offering sessions of meditation, Reiki, astrology, belly dancing and tai chi.
