Ever thought of organising yourself an all inclusive holiday where you wont have to worry about a thing? Tanya Chaffey from our Albany store shares her amazing experience at Club Med Bali and why you should make your next trip worry free!
Club Med Bali...Great service, awesome food, comfortable accommodation, and it's all inclusive...yes even your liquor!!!
From the moment you step out of the airport in Denpasar your Club Med experience begins. You're greeted by one of the GO's (Gracious Organiser) who will check you in and tag your luggage, which you will see again at your room, and a chilled bottle of water is definately welcomed as is the airconditioned van.
Club Med is in a fantastic location in the heart of Nusa Dua, the 'nice' part of Bali , 20 mins away from the craziness that is Kuta and about 30 mins for Denpasar Airport. There's a beautiful beach, although not really a swimming beach but has the most beautiful sunrise if you are keen enough to drag your self away from bed at the crack of dawn.
Club Med is an approximate 15 Minute stroll to the local market and shops for the obligatory handbag purchases... that is if you have enough time to get away from all of the amazing activities on offer.
The resort itself is huge, large enough that you don't notice how many people are on holiday with you. The only time that you may encounter crowds is in the pool (large enough but could be a little bigger) and at meal times. To try and avoid the crowds, try and go outside of NZ or Australian school holidays.
There are 2 restaurants to choose from, the first is ala carte, from a set menu and requires a booking, this is for your more fine dining experience for that special evening. The second is buffet style, an ever changing international smorgasbord of cultural delights, something for even the most fussiest of eaters. As always you are greeted by smiling staff who are willing to answer the 'what's that' questions. For the kids grab one of the compartmental trays to make sure they meet all of their nutritional needs and once they have eaten their greens they can go crazy on the exquisite desserts on offer.
There is a great bar to spend the evening relaxing after your action packed days, sipping very tasty cocktails and not having to part with any money (unless you want something like Cognac) with great music getting played to get you up and dancing.
The rooms are comfortable and clean with a Balinese theme and large enough to spread out, but if you're a little immobile, then you will need to stay in one of the rooms on the lower floors as there are stairs everywhere. The only thing that I missed from my room was conditioner and a face cloth, not supplied, maybe this is a kiwi thing but I like my face cloth!
GO's - Gracious organiser... an odd name, but they are everywhere, and come from all around the world, so it doesn't matter what language you speak, there is probably staff from there. They are there to make sure that everyone from young to old get in amongst all that Club Med has to offer from a game of soccer, the flying trapeze, windsurfing to dancing the night away at the amazing poolside bar, chatting to clients over dinner to ensure they are having a great holiday.
Activities are abundant with many lessons being offered thourhgout the day at specific times to make it easy to plan you day. For example these are great for those who are wanting to try their hand at golf but don't want to pay the exhorbitant fee's. One of the more interesting activities on offer is the Flying Trapeze, fantastic fun for all.
Club Med is great for everyone from families (kids are kept entrertained from morning to night with qualified and fun GO's), to groups of friends who want to party and try new activities, even honeymooners who can after a busy day can spend time in the adults only pool or have a couples massage at the onsite Spa.
