Sydney and New South Wales are just a hop skip and a jump across the Tasman for many Kiwi's. Flight Centre's Kate Arnold now lives and works in Queenstown, but grew up in Sydney, and shares her New South Wales top spots and must do's.

1. Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge at twilight and watch the city lights come alive.

 

Jervisbay

2. Head to Jervis Bay, the jewel of the NSW south coast. Only a three-hour drive from Sydney, this is a haven of unspolied white sand beaches and clear blue waters renowned for its scenic, natural and cultural heritage.

3. Take a trip to Hunter Valley Wine Country, Australia's oldest producing win region. A two-hour drive north of Sydney, stay a night or two and take part in an organised wine tour.

4. Visit the rural Town of Berry, two hours drive from Sydney, to shop for arts and crafts and experience the boutique wineries.

5. Drive south through the Royal National Part to Stanwell Tops and watch the hang-gliders, cross the Sea Cliff Bridge and stop at the Scarborough Hotel for bite to eat.
