Known as the city that never sleeps, New York is the quintessential place to experience the bustling city life on USA holidays.

The art, style and fashion are cutting edge and influence trends all around the world. However, it’s beyond the major sites that New York really shines.

Whether it’s time spent wandering the shops of Greenwich Village, having a coffee and people watching in Soho, being amongst the world famous traffic and hustle or just taking in the history, the atmosphere is what makes this city so unique.

There's lots to see in the different neighbourhoods, each unique in their own way, from Soho to the Meatpacking District and East Village.

New York is a foodie heaven as well; who can resist a slice of authentic New York pizza? There are also corner street vendors from which you can get a hot dog or pretzel, and the food trucks selling such things as lobsters, dumplings and BBQs in busy areas like Union Square and Battery Park.

If the credit card needs some action, the outlet mall Woodbury Common or popular Chelsea Markets are good shopping options.

And if you're heading over before the end of the year, you'll be able to see the spectacular Christmas lights and go ice skating at the Rockefeller Centre.
