Sydney is sensational for a family adventure or romantic short break, so Candice van den Bos from Flight Centre Auckland shares her tips for your next Sydney holiday.
It’s your opportunity to take photos with your favourite celebrities. There are wax models of famous historical figures, sports stars, politicians and celebrities; everything from Alf (from Home and Away) to Marilyn Monroe and 1 Direction to Nelson Mandela.
Some of the displays have props - and you are encouraged to interact with the wax models to take some creative photos. It was a lot of fun for all ages. Depending on how quickly you rush through it I'd recommend allowing an hour or two.
SEA LIFE SYDNEY AQUARIUM
The Sydney aquarium is great for families, but I'd recommend going on a weekday to avoid long queues. It’s everything you expect from an aquarium - from stingrays and sharks to starfish. Would recommend about an hour, or longer if you are interested in reading or learning more.
PARKROYAL DARLING HARBOUR
This hotel has recently gone through a $20 million refurbishment, so expect it to look pretty smart! The club rooms are worth booking, if only for access to the club lounge which has amazing views over Darling Harbour plus drinks and canapés in the evening.
HOTEL IBIS WORLD SQUARE
This hotel is a good one for those travelling on a budget. It offers a handy central location, close to shops, restaurants and bars, with good-sized rooms for couples.
FOUR POINTS SHERATON DARLING HARBOUR
With 683 rooms, this is the largest hotel in Australia. All rooms are modern and clean with natural night, plus the premium hotel rooms have balconies that wrap around. The location is very handy, central to Darling Harbour and the attractions. Don't miss the seafood buffet lunch and dessert station!
