Brilliant sunshine, golden sands and dazzling attractions - it's all gold on the Gold Coast. As is the accommodation, as Dielle DeSouza from Flight Centre West City found on her Gold Coast holidays.
If you want to stay in the heart of Surfers Paradise, the Mantra Circle on Cavill is a faultless location. This is a resort that caters towards every guest's need and in my opinion is one of the best in Surfers Paradise. The hotel itself is located right opposite the mall area with a Woolworths located right outside for families wanting to self-cater.
The large self-contained apartments are ideally suited for families, with breathtaking views particularly if you are located on a high floor. There is also a large outdoor and indoor pool, a games room for children and even a theatre which you can hire out.
If you are after a cheaper alternative on the Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise, Breakfree Acapulco is another good option. Just a short distance from the Cavill Ave area, this hotel is located directly opposite the beach. This complex is best suited for families with older children who don't need all the trimmings of a bigger resort.
The apartments are quite spacious with good balconies, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. The views are similarly good, either of the ocean or the hinterland which lights up at night. The property has a large indoor and outdoor pool, although no air-conditioning.
An excellent option for families with young children in Broadbeach is the Breakfree Diamond Beach. This is a three star hotel with amazing pools which stretch all around the resort, including a pool area for very small children. Cafes and shops are located close by, although a car would be handy for getting to these.
The apartments have a very resort feel but with the added convenience of a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and parking just outside the building. Apartments are quite spacious although don't include air conditioning.
A fancier option if you are staying in Broadbeach is to stay at the iconic five star Peppers Broadbeach. Located right in the middle of the shopping area of Broadbeach, this hotel would be best suited to couples travelling together.
The property offers a range of air conditioned apartments with big gardens and large heated pools. The rooms are very modern and fully equipped with European fittings in each room, sofa beds and a spectacular view of Broadbeach from the balcony. There's even a pillow menu so guests can choose from seven different varieties of pillows!
The boutique Marrakesh Apartments are an option in between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. The complex is walking distance to the beach but located in a secluded area, so having a car is beneficial.
The property's units have large balconies with good views as well as air conditioning, however are smaller in size than other complexes. There's also a small bar, restaurant, gym and games area on site to provide entertainment for guests to make up for its location.
