The Imperial Mae Ping Hotel is a very popular 3 star hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai. Good for those travellers on a budget and wanting a central location, it is a 5 minute walk to the night markets. This hotel is 23 years old and is one of the original hotels in the area.
With 371 rooms there are a few different room types, from deluxe rooms with new flat screen tv’s to royal suites with bedrooms separated by sliding doors.
The hotel has some really good facilities which include 2 outdoor pools, gym, spa, free WiFi and a children’s playground. There is also 5 dining outlets which include a coffee shop, bar, beer garden, Japanese buffet and Chinese restaurant.
Rarinjinda Wellness Resort & Spa is a boutique property in Thailand great for couples, honeymooners or those seeking a wellness retreat. It is located close to the riverside and is a 15-20 walk to the night markets.
The real feature of the hotel is the Wellness Spa, which offers many treatments such as aromatherapy oil massage, ayurvedic hideaway, hot stone massage, hydrotub therapy, and herbal steam and wellness treatments.
All rooms include a free wellness consultation and yoga classes. All feature a modern Thai design and are very luxurious, although the suites give you slightly more space. If you're feeling like spasling out, the RarinJinda Villa located on the top floor has a private outdoor jacuzzi, four poster bed, separate lounge area and bedroom.
The Holiday Inn is a little further out of town and takes roughly 10 minutes to get into the city centre by taxi or tuktuk. The hotel has over 500 good-sized rooms, some of the bigger rooms in Chiang Mai, with either city or river views. The hotel also has an outdoor pool, fitness centre spa and sauna.
The Chedi is located on the banks of the river and was previously the British Consulate, so the building has been retained and restored. This is a great hotel for couples and honeymooners. All rooms have free WiFi and a large balcony with daybed. The suites have access to the club lounge which offers free breakfast plus evening cocktails and canapes.
The hotel facilities include an outdoor pool overlooking the river, spa, fitness centre with yoga and group classes. There are two restaurants and a lobby lounge offering travellers a relaxed atmosphere.
