If you fancy a beach getaway with the comfort of a modern resort, Lauren Kenny from Flight Centre Hornby has some suggestions for your Fiji holiday so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.
The Westin has a nice feel, designed in a comfortable Fijian style. The rooms (and the beds) are very comfortable, there is some excellent dining to be had in their 3 restaurants, and the pool was inviting and refreshing. The resort also offers entertainment each night, which is a nice touch and something a little different to help guests get into the Fijian vibe.
The Sheraton Villas are quite spacious and decked out with a range of facilities, making them a good bet for families. There is a nice pool including swim-up bar and infinity pool, as well as another good-sized pool set among landscaped gardens.
The Hilton in Denarau is one of the largest resorts in Fiji and all the rooms are very spread out, which means that if you are down one end of the property you are quite a distance away from the facilities. There is a great kids club with lots of activities, plus 4 separate pools for everyone to relax in. The adjacent beach is very large, over 1km long, with the typical Denarau dark sand.
Raddison Blu has multiple swimming pools, for adults and kids, which are surrounded by nice gardens. There's also a nice waterfall feature with lawn in front of it. As a bit of a novelty, the resort is trialling a new way of dining where you sit with your feet in the water!
