7 night cruise sailing from Venice aboard the MSC Opera

Visit Kotor, Mykonos, Le Piree, Corfu, Bari and Venice.

Venice

VENICE is a city frozen in the mists of time, ancient yet thoroughly modern. Somehow it survives built on a series of wooden poles that sink deep into the mud and flowing water of the Adriatic underneath the city. World-renowned city of canals and bridges. These facilitate internal transportation and have a beauty and charm that draw countless visitors each year. The modern city embraces the whole 90-mile (145-kilometer) perimeter of the lagoon and includes ten principal islands in addition to those of the mother city and two industrial boroughs of Mestre and Marghera on the mainland.

Kotor

Kotor is an old Mediterranean port characteristically surrounded by well preserved stonewalls. Venice had control of Kotor from 1420to 1797, the influence of which can be observed in the architecture of the city. Within the city walls visitors can take a walk through6th century churches and stunning piazzas. The steep path to the fortifications above town gives way to spectacular views of the panorama.

Mykonos

Mykonos has become the most famous and consequently the most popular of the Cyclades Islands and is visited by nearly one million tourists every year. This has been thanks to its treasures of natural beauty, rich history and cosmopolitan character. The island is relatively small and therefore it is easy to explore. The capital of the island is Mykonos Town (Hora), which has a colourful harbour and it is considered one of the most beautiful towns on the island due to its archetypal island-postcard image.

Corfu

CORFU is the most northernmost and second largest after Cephalonia of the Ionian islands. It is the Island of endless natural beauty. The island of song and music, of unending inspiration, a combination of the cosmopolitan and the traditional. The island will leave the visitor with unforgettable memories, excite him with unparalleled images and touch chords in his soul as he pays homage to the culture of the seven islands. How can we put in few words all the elements which make up this earthly paradise, this place which has been so generously blessed by God and which has been written about by so many illustrious writers and poets.

Bari

Situated in Italy's heel – famous for its beaches, hill towns and fabulous food – is an increasingly popular tourist destination. Commercial and administrative capital of Puglia, a university town and southern Italy's second city, Bari has its fair share of interest. Bari's rich cosmopolitan past – embracing Byzantine, Norman, Arabic, Angevin and Pisan culture – is reflected in the city's glorious architecture, especially the remarkable 12th-century basilica dedicated to the city's patron, Saint Nicholas.

MSC Opera

MSC Opera offers a traditional take on cruising for those looking for a comfortable and unpretentious cruise in an easy-going, fun-loving atmosphere. Although the vast majority of passengers on her Southampton cruises will be British the famous mix of fine Italian and international cuisine is always appreciated! With so many great itineraries on these cruises from Southampton, it’s fortunate that MSC Opera has plenty of open deck space and lots of spacious public rooms that help elevate watching the world go by into something rather special. On board you’ll find that things have been done exceedingly well: MSC Opera features plenty of real wood and marble and rich, traditional fabrics and trimmings abound. Her public areas boast a sweeping marble reception area and lovely open spaces with huge glass walls overlooking the sea. Indeed wherever you go, inside or on deck, you’ll find that a true sense of operatic grandeur and spaciousness prevails. You’ll quickly find that MSC Opera has the all important ingredient that turns a good cruise ship into a great one: she has atmosphere. Sumptuous décor and fine facilities come as standard but above all, a cruise aboard MSC Opera is sociable and fun. All ages are generally represented and the crew, the officers, the entertainers and musicians work together to generate a fantastic atmosphere.
