Day 1: Depart London
Make your way to London Heathrow for your flight to Australia.
Day 2: Darwin
Upon arrival in Darwin late this evening, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3: Darwin, Embark Cruise
This morning, you will transfer to the wharf to board your ship. As you set sail, meet your friendly crew and fellow travellers at the Captain’s Welcome Drinks.

Day 4: King George River, Tranquil Bay
Jump aboard the Explorer and discover rugged gorges carved by the force of the mighty King George River. Towering 80 metres above the water and reminiscent of an outdoor cathedral, the twin falls are one of the Kimberley’s most spectacular attractions. Later, explore the pristine beach and luscious green landscape at Tranquil Bay.

Day 5: Vansittart Bay, Jar Island
View the wreckage of the US Air Force DC3 plane that crashed at Vansittart Bay during World War II in 1945. Later, you’ll discover Jar Island and its abundance of high quality and ancient Indigenous Bradshaw (Gwion Gwion) paintings that are etched into the alcoves and cave walls.

Day 6: Winyalken Bay
After anchoring in Winyalken Bay, travel ashore and explore the natural sandstone caves of Hathaway’s Hideaway.

Day 7: Bigge Island, Careening Bay
Visit Bigge Island, one of the largest islands in the Bonaparte Archipelago. Ancient Wandjina and Bradshaw (Gwion Gwion) rock art can be viewed here. These works date back over thousands of years and offer a rare insight into Indigenous history. Spend time at leisure wandering Careening Bay. Then, with a knowledgeable guide, you’ll journey to the site of the iconic boab tree engraved with ‘HMC Mermaid 1820’, miraculously visible after almost 200 years.

Day 8: Prince Regent River, King Cascades
Today you’ll cruise along the Prince Regent River. Look out for saltwater crocodiles gliding through the water. Afterwards, enjoy afternoon tea at Camp Creek surrounded by idyllic views.

Day 9: Montgomery Reef, Doubtful Bay
Experience a truly spectacular moment when Montgomery Reef rises out of the ocean as the tide falls. Discover the reef’s diverse marine life including turtles, manta rays and reef sharks. Later, make sure to have your camera at the ready as you cruise through the dramatic sea cliffs at Doubtful Bay.

Day 10: Kuri Bay, Raft Point, Ruby Falls
Cruise Kuri Bay, home of the south sea pearl industry. Board the Explorer and travel to Raft Point, where you will have the chance to see ancient Wandjina rock art alongside some of the Kimberley’s most well-preserved Bradshaw (Gwion Gwion) paintings. Later, explore Red Cone Creek and Ruby Falls.

Day 11: Buccaneer Archipelago, Talbot Bay, Horizontal Falls
Travel through the Buccaneer Archipelago, a group of over 800 islands strewn across the azure waters of the Timor Sea. Your skilled captain navigates smoothly through the hidden whirlpools, unmarked rocks and reefs caused by the largest tides in the Southern Hemisphere. The islands’ rocks are over two billion years old, still in pristine condition due to the isolation and minimal tourism of the area. Head towards Talbot Bay and see the majestic Horizontal Falls. When the 12-metre tide turns, strong currents rush through the two narrow coastal gorges, creating a cascading effect. Later, explore the stunning white sands at Silica Beach.

Day 12: Lacepede Islands
Cruise to the Lacepede Islands (subject to conditions), a group of four islands home to an abundance of marine birds. The islands support over one percent of the world population of Lesser Frigatebirds and Roseate Terns. Because of this the islands are considered an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International. Tonight, say goodbye to your fellow travellers and friendly crew while you enjoy Captain’s Farewell Drinks.
