Discover Australia and their beautiful landscapes on a self-drive holiday in Australia.  Experience superb locations filled with some of the best food and wine Australia has to offer while enjoying the freedom of the open road. With many wineries, breweries and activities on offer it will be hard to decide where to go first.

Brisbane is a popular place to start for most visitors coming to explore Queensland with its friendly small-town vibe and fabulous year-round climate. Visit the popular Streets beach hidden away in the city. Explore the well-known XXXX Brewery and learn about how one of Australia's favourite beers is made. Or take a stroll down the river which winds its way around some of the city's most picturesque landscapes.

Just an hour's drive south of the city, O'Reillys vineyard is situated in the picturesque and peaceful Canungra Valley. This boutique vineyard is the perfect place to visit when on a self-drive holiday. O'Reilly's Vineyard has a wide range of white and red wines which will suit every palate. Pick your favourite and enjoy a picnic down by the running creek.

The Sunshine Coast is also a great spot to visit with beautiful beaches, markets, a sophisticated cafe lifestyle and secluded hinterland escapes. Don't miss a visit to the Eumundi markets held every Saturday and Wednesday morning. From fresh bread, arts & crafts to furniture and jewellery, there's always a wide range on offer at the Eumundi markets.

South Australia

Adelaide, the vibrant capital of South Australia, offers funky laneway bars and eateries, beaches, fantastic shopping and is the gateway to the Barossa, Murray River and Outback. Explore the city’s bustling Adelaide Central Market, wander down historic North Terrace or catch the tram to the beachside suburb of Glenelg. There are so many things to do in Adelaide, including a tour of the markets and a Choco-latte tour! Ask our travel experts for more information.

Home to one of the best wine-producing regions, the Barossa is a paradise for wine-lovers with more than 80 cellar doors scattered around the region. Take in the picturesque landscape of rolling hills and stay in bliss when you come to visit this magical location just an hour's drive from Adelaide.  Stop in at boutique cellar doors and meet the winemaker, blend your own wine at Penfold’s or take a tour of the award-winning Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre. South of Adelaide, a stop at d’Arenberg Winery and the Willunga Farmers Market in McLaren Vale are must do’s!

Western Australia

While the pristine coastline is Perth's main lure, it's the tip of the sand dune for this great city. Aside from Perth's thriving cosmopolitan hub which is filled with boutiques, a lively music scene and rooftop movies and bars. Perth still has retained its natural beauty. This remote capital city has something for everyone and also has a wide range of delicious cuisine to choose from. Start your journey by exploring their amazing coastline, take a ferry to Rottnest Island, head up to beautiful Kings Park, and then enjoy a drive out to Fremantle (also known as Freo). Freo is beloved for its buzzing atmosphere, ample cafes, restaurants, galleries and markets. If you enjoy a boutique beer or two don't leave without a visit to the Little Creatures brewery.

A visit to Western Australia would not be complete without Margaret River. Just two and a half hours south of Perth, this destination is perfect for a self-drive holiday. With its beautiful views of rolling vineyards, you will enjoy the journey and be rewarded with some of the country's premium wine at the end. This food paradise is the best place to get into a food coma with the perfect wine to match. Explore Margaret River restaurants which have distinct regional flavours. Alongside those good experiences are art galleries, caves and tall tree forests to explore.
