Flight Centre travel expert Jeanne Ng from Ellerslie Flight Centre store recently travelled to Spain and shares her top 5 must-do’s:

1. Palau de la Musica Catalana (palau means palace) is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city and a must visit for music lovers. The palace was named as a World Heritage Site in 1997.

2 A hop-on-hop-off bus tour is a great way to see a new city - Bus Turistic run a great one around Barcelona. They take you around all the major sights and you can decide as you go along which ones you would like to come back to. This is particularly great if you’re short on time.

3. The mountain of Montserrat is a popular day trip from Barcelona and a great way to escape the city and see Catalonia’s beautiful landscape. Only an hour on the train or you can travel by cable car.

4. When in Spain, eat how the Spanish do. Dinner kicks off from around 9pm and generally consists of tapas. It’s often cheaper to eat standing up, and the traditional pincho’s are a must try.

5. Head to the beach in Valencia. Get your friends together, take a picnic and spend the day relaxing. It’s a huge beach so there is plenty of room for everyone!
