Ice skating, rock climbing, golf – it's hard to imagine doing all this at sea. Your cruise ship will have so much on offer you'll find it hard to fit everything in between port days. If that all sounds a bit too active, why not curl up with a book in the library or play a family game of giant checkers?
Enrichment programmes such as talks on the history, culture, flora and fauna of your destinations can be a wonderful way to get the most out port days. Learn before you arrive and spend your time on shore soaking up the culture. You could even learn a new skill like professional photography techniques, wine tasting or brush up on your computer skills – many cruises offer a rich program of education and courses.
Cruising brings the whole family together with quiz nights, themed parties, parades and more. Whether it's a mental challenge or physical fun, there are great group activities that will create shared memories and new friendships. There is plenty on offer for the whole family, while young passengers can also hang out with their new friends in your ship's youth program.
Top tip: Check out the activities on offer before you set sail to maximise your time on board.
