Nature Trail - Round the World Trip

What you will see on your round the world trip

You can tick off some of the world’s most amazing natural sights on a round-the-world ticket. This inspirational itinerary takes you to great heights – literally – such as the thundering Iguazu Falls in South America and impressive Victoria Falls in Africa, to the awe-inspiring beauty of seeing wildlife in its natural habitat in Kruger National Park and the Okavango Delta with the rolling green landscape of Europe in between. Fly to Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo in South America then onto Frankfurt in Europe, and ending your round-the-world trip in the African destinations of Johannesburg and Victoria Falls.

Buenos Aires

The Argentine capital is renowned for its stunning architecture and cultural ambience that’s seen the city dubbed the ‘Paris of South America’, however Buenos Aires (or BA to locals) also acts as a gateway to the mighty Patagonia region at the southernmost point of the continent. The Argentine side of the region features arid steppes, grasslands and deserts, where some of the country’s best white wine vineyards can be found. Across the Andes mountain range, the Chilean side of the region features glacial fjords and thick forests to explore too.

Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo is the closest international port to the mighty Iguazu Falls, which sits on the border of the Argentine province of Misiones and Parana in Brazil. The falls spans 2.7km and includes around a system of 275 waterfalls, including the tallest falls – known as Devil’s Throat. From the Brazilian side, you’ll experience the calmer side of Iguazu Falls, where you won’t get as close to the action, but you’ll be able to enjoy the view. Cap off your Brazil immersion back in Sao Paulo, the largest city in the country and its cultural capital as well.

Frankfurt

Flying into the European hub of Frankfurt, with its central location in Germany, offers you access to the Continent’s innate beauty within easy flying distance. From here you can head into the snow capped Alps where endless opportunities for hiking, skiing and adventure abound. Further afield other natural wonders await, from the rocky shores of the Mediterranean to the wild landscapes of Scandinavia in the north.

Johannesburg

Few continents wow quite like Africa and wildlife enthusiasts can tick off the Big Five animals all within close proximity to Johannesburg at Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest nature reserves. Go on a South African safari to spy elephants, lions, rhinos, leopards and buffalo on a dedicated game-viewing drive helmed by expert guides, sleep in tented camps or lodge accommodation and hike in the African bushveld.

Victoria Falls

From Johannesburg, fly to the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls. Located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe on the Zambezi River in southern Africa, Victoria Falls is the largest in the world – and 108m taller than South America’s Iguazu Falls. This epic sight is at peak viewing in April at the end of the wet season where around 500 million litres of water flow, although if you visit in the dry season (October to early November), it’s possible to traverse some part of Victoria Falls.
