Cabin Classes

Economy

Fiji Airways’ fleet of new, next generation aircraft reflect the modern transformation of the economy class cabin. The most economical way to fly between Australia and Fiji, the U.S. and throughout the Pacific islands, Fiji Airways offers an attractively designed cabin featuring slim line seats for greater personal space. Seats are fitted with adjustable headrests and 10 channels of in-seat audio entertainment.

Entertainment:

B-737 – Entertainment on the Boeing 737 consists of shared drop-down screens located every three rows. Viewing entertainment consists of movies, TV shows and short subject programming. There are also 10 audio channels for music. Headphones are made available at each seat.

A-330 – Each seat is equipped with its own ten and a half inch seat back video screen for on-demand viewing of movies and other programming. A number of audio channels are also available for listening enjoyment.

Food and Beverage: On short haul flights, Fiji Airways serves complimentary snacks with drinks. Beer, wine and spirits are available for purchase. On long-haul flights to Hong Kong, Honolulu and Los Angeles, a hot meal choice is offered with a wide range of complimentary beverages.

Business Class

The most comfortable way to fly, Fiji Airways’ business class cabin is decorated with contrasting colours of light tones and patterned accent pillows. On the Boeing 737, a wide seat with loads of leg room, combined with the friendly service Fiji Airways is known for will ensure a relaxing flight. The business class cabin on the widebody A-330 features 6 abreast seating in a 2 x2 x 2 configuration. There are no middle seats here as all guests have either a window or aisle seat. Leather armchair style seats recline to a lie flat position and offer both privacy and ample personal space.

Entertainment:

B-737 - Business class seats feature their own individual TV screens for viewing of movies and short subject programming such as TV shows, news and travel related topics.

A-330 – Passengers can enjoy a 15.4 inch TV screen located at each seat. Current blockbusters and classic movies are available as well as various TV shows and several music channels.

Food and Beverage: A full menu of starter, main and desert options are available to enjoy in business class. Enjoy the three course fine dining experience complete with a host of fine wines, beer, spirits and other beverages, all on the house.

Baggage

Fiji Airways Baggage Allowance

Carry-on

Economy class passengers are allowed one carry-on item each. Business Class guests are allowed 2 pieces of cabin luggage except on flights to Honolulu, where only one bag is permitted. Passengers are also allowed one personal item in addition to their allowance. Personal items include a small hand bag or briefcase or thin laptop bag.

There are weight and size limitations for carry-on items. Bags must not exceed 7kg (15lbs) in weight and size limitations of 115cm (45”).

Checked

The checked baggage allowance varies depending on the routing and destination. Here is a breakdown of checked bag allowances.

Los Angeles – Economy guests travelling to or from the US mainland are allowed one checked bag with a maximum total weight of 23kg (50lbs). Business class guests are permitted two pieces with a maximum total weight of 30kg (66lbs).

Honolulu – Guests are only allowed one checked bag for both economy and business class. The weight allowances are 23kg (50lbs) for economy and 30kg (66lbs) for business.

All other international destinations – Multiple bags are allowed for both economy and business however similar weight limits apply in accordance with Los Angeles and Honolulu restrictions - 23kg (50lbs) for economy and 30kg (66lbs) for business.

Size limitations for each checked bag is 158cm (62inches). Any single bag weighing more than 30kg (66lbs) will not be accepted.

Bulky Items

Bulky items are defined as those bags that exceed 158cm (62 inches). These items will incur an oversized bag fee. Items greater than 277cm (109 inches) will not be accepted and must be shipped as freight. Bags weighing more than 23kg may be charged an overweight fee.

Sporting equipment such as surfboards and golf bags may incur applicable bulky item charges.

Infant Baggage

For U.S. flights, infants under 2 years of age are given a checked baggage allowance of 1 bag up to 10kg (22lbs), plus one stroller. Multiple bags are permitted for all other international destinations however the same total weight limit of 10kg (22lbs) still applies.

Cabin baggage includes one piece no greater than 3kg (7lbs).

Restricted or Dangerous Goods

Dangerous goods such as explosives, fireworks, flammable liquids, gasses and materials are not allowed in the cabin or checked luggage. Other banned substances include corrosives, poisons, radioactive materials, paints and petrol powered equipment. Such items are potentially harmful to the safe operation of an aircraft and are restricted. For a full list of restricted items, speak with your Flight Centre Travel Expert.

Declare all dangerous goods at check-in to prevent fines and possible imprisonment.

Check-in

Check-in early and unwind before you fly

Check-in procedures for Fiji Airways flights require passengers to check in for their international flights at the airport ticket counter 2 to 3 hours before departure. Check-in closes 1 hour prior to departure. Guests may change their flight and select seats on line under the ‘Manage Your Booking’ tab on the airline’s website.

Lounges

Nadi's lush lounge offerings

Members of the Fiji Airways Tabua Club are given access to the exclusive lounge in Nadi as well as selected partner lounges in Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, Christchurch, Hong Kong and Los Angeles.

These partner lounges are available for use only when on an “FJ” designated flight number. The Tabua Club in Nadi offers comfortable seating, snacks and beverages and premium check-in for all Fiji Airways flights.

Frequent Flyer

Earn Qantas points when you fly Fiji

While Fiji Airways does not offer a frequent flyer programme of its own, points can be earned and redeemed through frequent flyer partners Qantas, Alaska Airlines and American Airlines.

Points can be earned in economy and accrue and additional 25% in business class. Domestic flights within Fiji do earn points with Qantas on selected fare types however are not eligible with Alaska or American.
