Phuket Airport (HKT)

Phuket Airport offers two car parks, one opposite the international terminal building and another opposite the domestic terminal building. Both car parks have fixed hourly rates, and the first 15 minutes is free. 

Feeling a little bit fancy? Luxurious airport limousine transfers are available at Phuket Airport, near the Arrival Halls.  

A range of different taxi service providers, including Grab and CABB, are available to make your journey to or from Phuket Airport a seamless one. 

Car rental companies, including AVIS, Budget, Europcar and Hertz, are available at Phuket Airport. Talk to your Travel Expert about organising car hire for your trip or book it yourself online before you leave. 

One of the most affordable and convenient ways to travel between Phuket Airport and Phuket Town is by public transport. The 8411 Airport Bus is an official government bus, providing air-conditioned transportation from Terminal 2 (the Domestic Terminal) to Phuket Town. Look out for the orange buses! Visit the Phuket Mahanakorn website for up-to-date information on timetables and fares. 

The terminals at Phuket Airport are connected by a walkway. For assistance transferring between the terminals, talk to the ground staff.  

A number of domestic and international airlines fly into and out of Phuket Airport. Major airlines servicing the airport include AirAsia, Bangkok Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Hong Kong Airlines, Jetstar, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and more.  

As a general rule, you should aim to arrive at Phuket Airport two hours before your scheduled departure time for domestic flights and at least three hours before international flights. This should give you plenty of time to complete check-in, drop your bags and pass through any necessary security screenings before your boarding time. Keep in mind that you may experience longer lines and delays during busy travel periods, so check with the airport, airline or your Travel Expert directly for more information on recommended arrival times. 

There are plenty of transport options available from Phuket Airport to Phuket Town, including public transport, limousine transfers, taxis and car rentals. 

Yes, there are several airport lounges at Phuket Airport, including the Bangkok Airways Blue Ribbon Lounge and Thai Airways Royal Orchid Lounge. Access to airport lounges may be possible depending on your ticket class, frequent flyer membership, credit card benefits or by purchasing a day pass. While there are no showers or hotels within the airport itself, there are plenty of great places to stay while exploring Phuket.
