For a local hidden gem, take a day trip and drive to Crystal Cascades, the secluded freshwater swimming hole hidden among huge granite boulders in the Barron Gorge National Park. Crystal Cascades is only 20mins from Cairns and is fed by a series of pristine waterfalls.
