Recently married, or planning to marry soon, and browsing the best place for your honeymoon?

If you’re seeking a destination of white sand, blue waters and romantic sunsets where the rest of the world melts away, then Bali is an iconic and memorable destination. Bali is a treasure trove for newlyweds with so much to do, so much to eat, and exquisite hotels to unwind in. Planning a honeymoon can be stressful, so we’re taking things up a notch and preparing the ultimate 7-day honeymoon itinerary just for you. Check it out below!

Ready to book? Check out available holidays, or get in touch to arrange your flights

Note, if you’re a same-sex couple, that Bali has always been more liberal and accepting of the LGBTTQIA+ community, however it's always best to use discretion when in doubt. Chat to your Travel Expert for advice prior to booking if you have concerns.

Top Tips for Honeymooners

  • Bali is usually best for honeymoon holidays during the dry season from April to October.
  • The main currency of Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah. Whilst you can expect your resorts and hotels to have eftpos available, it pays to have a bit of cash handy for when you visit smaller towns or outlying regions. Generally having $50-$100 cash on hand at any time is a good guide, but you can also ask your Travel Expert for more insights.
  • It’s recommended that you book between 7 and 10 days for your honeymoon getaway to ensure you get to relax and unwind, whilst also getting to explore Bali!
  • Don’t feel rushed to pack out every day with activities. Ensure you get down time to recline by the pool, or to get a massage.

Day 1

Where to Stay: 3 nights at The Kayon Jungle Resort. This luxury jungle resort boasts private infinity pool villas and is a serene sanctuary where you can relax and unwind with your new spouse! Today is going to be very much about getting set up at your resort, chilling out in the sun with a cocktail in hand and sampling the delicious cuisine that’s on offer.

Morning
Landing at Ngurah Rai Airport, you’ll take a private transfer to Ubud which takes approximately 1.5 hours. Soak in the sights of the Bali countryside as you journey north from the airport. Once you arrive you’ll be greeted by swaying palms, infinity-edge swimming pools and striking views of the Balinese rice terraces. Check-in, freshen up and change into your holiday attire, and unwind with a welcome drink in your villa.

Lunch
Once you’ve had your fill at your villa and are ready to explore, you can head to The Kelusa where a world of exquisite tastes and endless delight awaits you. Located in the soulful village of Kelusa, and framed by the Payangan rainforest, it’s the perfect spot to dine excellently. 15 minutes by vehicle from your resort, you’ll be treated to authentic Balinese and Indonesian food, a hefty wine list and all the creature comforts you could hope for.

Evening
As the sun sets over the island, you’ll be in for a treat. We’re talking an intimate candlelit dinner in your private villa, or at the rooftop restaurant of the resort. Exquisitely crafted dishes await you from tiger prawns through to gourmet burgers! There’s something to fit every flavour profile.

Day 2

Where to stay: Night 2 at The Kayon Jungle Resort

Morning
After breakfast, you’ll want to make your way to the front desk where you’ll be collected for your private guided tour of Tegenungan Waterfall and the Tirta Empul Temple. These iconic destinations are rich with history, and you’ll be treated to a full cultural immersion. While you’re at the temple, you’ll be able to experience a traditional Balinese purification ritual, to clean the soul of impure elements and protect against negative energy.

Lunch
On your way back to the resort, you’ll stop in at Cafe Pomegranate. This sophisticated fusion restaurant is situated in a rice field with open-air seating and offers a delicious selection of treats from their menu. Grab a pizza to share and a glass of bubbles each as you look over the swaying rice fields.

Evening
Time for some pampering. As you return to the resort, you’ll head over to the Serayu Spa at the Kayon for a couples massage session. This haven of relaxation will help all your worries melt away and leave you in a state of bliss! If you’re up to it, then dinner at the rooftop restaurant is on the cards, otherwise order in room service to the comfort of your villa!

Day 3

Where to stay: Final evening at The Kayon Jungle Resort

Morning
Make an early start and head down to the Ubud Street Market and the Ubud Art Market. From here you’ll have your pick of delicious local cuisine to help you start your day, and amazing handcrafted artworks that you can take back home with you. If you’re feeling a little extra peppy, make your way over to the Balinese Cooking Experience, situated 5 minutes from the marketplace. You’ll learn how to craft authentic Balinese treats!

Lunch
If you decided to do the Balinese Cooking Experience, then you’re sorted for lunch today. Otherwise, chat to market stall holders or to your resort staff and discover hidden gems that are recommended by the locals.

Evening
In the late afternoon/early evening, you'll want to make your way to the Pura Dalem Temple, where you'll be treated to a traditional Legong or Barong dance performance! Fear not, although Pura Dalem is considered a ‘death temple’, it is important in Balinese culture for celebrating the balance between life and death. This ornate temple setting with flickering oil lamps and hypnotic Gamelan music creates an unforgettable and truly magical evening. Once you're done, make your way to Hujan Locale for a late dinner where you'll indulge in modern takes on Indonesian classics in a romantic colonial-style villa.

Day 4

Where to stay: Today you’re heading to The Edge Bali for 2 nights. These opulent cliffside villas boast incredible views, infinity pools and a romantic atmosphere that is perfect for your honeymoon.

Morning
Say farewell to the Kayon Jungle Resort as you check out and take the extremely scenic drive to Uluwatu. Check into The Edge Bali where you’ll not only be treated to the new sights and sounds of Uluwatu, but you’ll also get to enjoy a private floating breakfast on arrival! As luxurious as it sounds, this breakfast is literally floating in your pool meaning you get to relax in the refreshing waters while you eat croissants and drink orange juice!

Lunch
If you find yourself unwilling to get out of the pool, and wish to stay around the resort then have some lunch poolside - think plenty of fruit, fresh sandwiches and delicious cocktails. Alternatively, you could wander over to Oneeighty - the luxury dayclub situated in The Edge Bali. Famed for its glass-bottom infinity pool, you’ll feel like you’re floating in the air with both the edge of the pool, and its base, seemingly invisible!

Evening
Sundays Beach Club is calling your name for dinner. A 15 minute drive from The Edge Bali, you’ll have your toes in the sand while you sip champagne, before you know it! If you book for later in the evening, then you can stick around for the beach bonfire and cocktails. A fitting way to celebrate the middle of your honeymoon!

Day 5

Where to stay: Final Night at The Edge Bali

Morning
Exhilaration is the perfect way to describe how you’ll be starting Day 5. An early morning speedboat awaits you to take you across the rolling tide to Nusa Penida for a private tour. You’ll be greeted by rugged cliffs, glistening turquoise waters, and trees swaying calmly in the breeze. Dive beneath the waves with a snorkelling tour, or explore Broken Beach or Angel’s Billabong.

Lunch
Staying in a beachside town, you are guaranteed to find exquisite seafood. That’s why for lunch today you’ll be heading to Amok Sunset where you’ll feast on fresh seafood while looking out over the sparkling ocean. Picture it, you with your sunhat and glasses on, a cocktail in one hand and fresh prawns, scallops or oysters by the dozen. Delicious.

Evening
After a busy few days, it’s time for a quieter evening. Returning to your resort, you’ll relax with a jacuzzi soak to help your body, mind and soul relax, and then you’ll treat yourself to some room service while you browse the movies or reality tv shows that are on offer. The perfect way to round out your evening.

Day 6

Where to stay: The Legian Seminyak. You’re ending on a treat with these luxuriously elegant beachfront suites. Wake up to the sound of the rolling tide on the shore and fall asleep in plush comfort by evening.

Morning
After you wake up and check out of your hotel, you’ll be heading to Seminyak (a roughly 1.5 hour scenic journey) where you’ll arrive at The Legian Seminyak. Check-in, unpack and marvel at your beachfront suite, and then you’ll be off to explore the boutique shops and art galleries. From markets and shops populated by local creators and artisans, you’re sure to discover a souvenir to bring back home with you. Choose from galleries like the Nyaman Gallery or the Purpa Fine Art Gallery for a relaxed atmosphere and jaw dropping works of art.

Lunch
You’ll be dining somewhere that feels a bit more familiar for lunch, as you visit Sisterfields - a cafe that represents the cafe culture of our neighbours in Australia. Bringing you a love of good food and great coffee you’ll be able to indulge in fresh pastries, salads and sandwiches alongside a flat white.

Evening
After a day of exploring, you’ll book in for a sunset dinner at La Lucciola where you’ll be treated to some fine dining from a beautiful beachside location. As this is your final evening in Bali, it’s an ideal way to toast to your honeymoon, to eat exquisitely and to be serenaded by the waves lapping on the beach while you drink cocktails!

Day 7

Final day in Bali (Note: these activities will vary depending on your departure time).

Morning
Leave Bali totally relaxed as you visit the Prana Spa for one final couples’ spa. Award-winning and one of Bali’s most beloved wellness sanctuaries, it draws on centuries of ancient tradition to help you recover and rejuvenate. Their highly trained team of international therapists are on hand to iron out any aches or pains and leave your body feeling brand new!

Lunch
A final beachfront meal awaits you at Seasalt at Alila Seminyak with views out over the Indian Ocean as it stretches to the horizon. All dishes are seasoned by traditional organic Kusamba sea salt from the east of Bali where a small community of salt farmers continue a centuries-old tradition. Serving up Japanese inspired cuisine, a fresh seafood selection, and using locally sourced ingredients, it will set you up well for your flight home!

Evening
If you’re booked for an evening flight then now is the time for your private transfer to the airport for departure. Get checked in, drop off your bags and get ready to make the journey back home. Our Travel Experts can help you book a day room to use until your flight, if that’s more up your alley, so ask us when booking about making this happen.
