Australia: it's big, it's bold, it's breathtakingly beautiful. Whether you're visiting from foreign shores or just keen to explore your own backyard, Australia is a destination with endless possibilities. Only fractionally smaller than the United States but with just eight states and territories to its name, getting to know Australia is no mean feat!

If you're chasing postcard experiences, you'll no doubt have the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, Daintree Rainforest, Bungle Bungles and 12 Apostles on your wishlist. If it's the city lights you're seeking, Sydney and Melbourne are hard to beat, but Brisbane and Perth give them a run for their money when it comes to wining, dining and entertainment.

Once you've scaled the Sydney Harbour Bridge and eaten your way through Melbourne's laneways, consider getting off the beaten track in the 'Apple Isle' of Tasmania – a veritable wilderness wonderful – or journey offshore to Lord Howe Island, Kangaroo Island, or Norfolk Island.
