As part of Indonesia, Bali is a country proud of its heritage and culture. Despite adopting some Western traditions over the years, Bali still remains true to its Hindu past. You can see it in the streets, out amongst nature and most prominently during visits to temples. Balinese people are quite spiritual and you can immerse yourself in their beliefs with a Bali culture holiday package.

Why discover Bali's culture

  • Learn new traditions and beliefs
  • Visit stunning temples
  • Greet the animal residents, held in high regard
  • Explore the different heritages around the island
  • Affordable packages that offer insight into Bali and its people

Art, architecture and animals

You'd be forgiven for wanting to spend all your time in Bali on the beach, but if you venture off the sand you've a good chance of discovering incredible pieces of art and architecture. Private and group tour packages are available, showing you around the cities and rural areas where ancient traditions are proudly displayed through temples, sculptures and paintings.

Head out into Bali's inland environment to meet some of the creatures Balinese people view as sacred beings. At the Monkey Forest you're surrounded by hundreds of native monkeys, jumping and running over monuments created in their honour.

Spectacular local wonders

Checking into your hotel is only the beginning of the cultural experience you're about to embark on in Bali. The country is full of local wonders, both manmade and natural. In East Bali you can step foot inside the palace of Tirta Gangga, which is adorned with water fountains and bathing pools.

Next, you can see the enormous statue in the 240-hectare park called Garuda Wisnu Kencana or the ancient Ubud Palace. However, if you're more one for the marvels of nature, you're best to visit Mount Batur, an active volcano near Mount Agung.

Years of tradition

If you look closely, you can see culture in Bali displayed in everyday life, from the food served on the streets to the clothing local people wear. With a cultural holiday package to Bali, you have a front row seat to the inspiring stories behind this culture and will come away with a better understanding of what has shaped Bali into the country it is today.

You'll stay within historically rich walls that speak on the past and present traditions of the country. But, most importantly, each day will be a new cultural experience, showcasing a side of Bali that most tourists never realise exists.
