Holiday Planning Guide, Locations and Travel Information throughout Samoa

Samoa, the treasured islands of the South Pacific.

There's nothing more defining of a true island escape, than a journey to the beautiful islands of Samoa.

Five hours across the glistening Pacific Ocean lies Samoa, where life ambles along at its own measured pace. Partly it's the balmy tropical weather, but it's also the Samoan Way, called Fa'a Samoa, a 3,000 year old tradition and way of life.

Samoa forms the heart of Polynesia and is considered one of hte last bastions of Polynesian culture, with time-honoured customs still a part of everyday life.
Blessed with warm tropical weather, palm-fringed and unspoilt beaches, magnificent waterfalls and dense, lush rainforests, Samoa is an ideal place to relax and unwind in a postcard-perfect paradise.

In Samoa, you can also enjoy colourful coral reefs teeming with marine life, water sports (including surfing at some of the South Pacific's best-kept-secret breaks), in-land adventures, amazing blow holes and cool water holes.

A visit to Samoa wouldn't be complete without attending a Fia Fia Night with a traditional buffet feast and entertainment. A celebration of Samoa's culture through song, dance and story telling, the highlights are the spectacular Siva Afi or Fire Knife dance and the graceful Siva dance which incorporates traditional myths and legends into the performance.

The famous writer, Robert Louis Stevenson found his paradise here and spent his final years in Samoa. It was here that he wrote the majority of his books, including his most famous, Treasure Island. Known as 'Tusitala' - Samoan for 'teller of tales' - his beautiful mansion Vailima has been converted into a museum set amongst a lush garden and is open to the public.
