The Gold Coast is famous for fun and a great place for families, so Candice van den Bos from Flight Centre Auckland gives some tips for Gold Coast holidays.

If you’re in need of a beach break, there’s no need to go further than the white sandy shores of the Gold Coast. And even if you don’t, there’s plenty to do on the water or in the Gold Coast mountain range, which includes the unusually-shaped Tamborine Mountain.

Stunning views of the coast, beautiful rainforest and great sunsets are all at hand, along with award winning wineries, art and craft galleries, antique shops, markets, cafés and restaurants.

Gold Coast holidays

Gold Coast has several quite distinct areas. Surfers Paradise is great for those who want to stay where the action is, as it's close to attractions such as Sky Point, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and Cavill Ave shops. There are currently some road works underway while the monorail / tram line is completed (due in June 2014).

Broadbeach is quieter and good for those who want to be close to the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Jupiters Casino and restaurants.

Mermaid Beach to Burleigh Heads is a less commercial area, made up mostly of holiday parks and budget shops.
