Thailand boasts some of the top beaches in the world. It may be hard to pick a top one, but you know it will be breathe-taking when you visit. Read below for some of our top beach picks for Thailand and imagine yourself there walking barefoot down the soft sand towards the immaculate water.
Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi Leh
Famous for being the backdrop to the movie starring Leonardo Di Caprio, The Beach, Maya Bay is as picturesque as it gets. From towering cliffs surround the bay, to the unbelievable crystal clear water, many tourists find this beach as a highlight of any trip to Thailand. Tip for travellers: Phi Phi Leh is a national park, so there is a fee to enter. But with a beach like Maya Bay, it makes it all the worth-while.
Sairee Beach, Ko Tao
Not as touristy as the popular beaches, this beach is excellent for snorkeling and scuba diving. Featuring bars and night clubs, a ice-cold refreshing drink is only a few steps away from the golden sands. You can get here either by air or boat from the mainland.
Ko Nang Yuan
This tiny beach is the perfect day trip from Ko Tao. While it can get crowded at times, just put on that snorkeling gear and drift away looking at the abundance of sea-life withing an arms reach. There is one small resort on the island for travellers who prefer to stay a bit longer.
Patong Beach, Phuket
This is one of the biggest beaches on Phuket and is probably one of the most popular. With a wide coastline, there are plenty of bars, resorts and shops just steps away. With always something on the go from Jet Skis during the day to pumping night clubs at night, visit Patong Beach if you want to live it up while visiting Thailand!
