Where to stay in Belfast
While not a particularly large city, Belfast is divided into four major quarters – the Titanic Quarter, the Cathedral Quarter, the Queen’s Quarter and the Gaeltacht Quarter – in addition to the city centre itself. Each of these areas boasts unique locations, landmarks and activities for visitors to check out, but they’re also home to some of the best places to stay in Belfast.

When packing for a trip to Belfast, don't forget the essentials like your visa, passport, chargers, camera, some GBP and the correct power adaptor. Clothing wise, check out the seasonality guides and pack to suit the conditions - aka plenty of layers for winter and lighter options for summer. Other necessities include a raincoat, walking shoes, hat, sunglasses and an umbrella. While we pray you’ll have a rain-free stay, it’s highly likely you’ll get a sprinkle or two during your stay.
Belfast is an incredibly walkable city, so you shouldn’t have any issues navigating all the sites. With this in mind, travellers generally opt to stay in Central Belfast, Cathedral Quarter and Queens Quarter.

While Belfast isn’t winning any prizes for year-round sunshine, it does give travellers the chance to experience all four seasons. Summer offers the hottest temps and long, sunny days between June and August, while winter will bring the cold, rain and snow between December and February. If you’re not a fan of the cold and are keen to make the most of your days in Belfast, we recommend visiting between May and October.
When you’re not sampling Guinness and exploring the lush Irish countryside, spend your time in Belfast meandering through world-class art galleries, learning the history of Crumlin Road, visiting Belfast castle and enjoying a bit of craic with the locals.
